The Cat in the Hat

Well, not exactly… Today Will showed much more improvement in his words and sound recognition. He was happily spouting off rhyming words during dinner. His pronunciation of words is beginning to improve as well. He has been having a tough time with the “r” sound, so-mixed in with his Southern accent- Star Wars sounds very much like “Stah Wuwas.” At first it’s cute, but after a while it can be a little concerning. Will’s working very hard on it though, and each week I notice some improvement. Amy is very happy with the independence he’s shown now that he’s moved to the 4-year old program in Loris. No more temper tantrums before going to Kid Care(after-school program). No more crying to see Mommy. He just happily waves at her while he walks past her room and says, “Hi, Mommy… Gotta go to Kid Care now!” She didn’t tell me, but I bet she bawled her eyes out the first time he did that.
