Well, the posts have been less frequent, but no less exciting…
An old High School friend and former coworker, Ritchie Ward, re-opened The Right Recipe restaurant in Loris last Thursday to much fanfare. The re-opening had been delayed for a little over a week, and by the time it opened, the buzz of excitement had reached all over the county. Opening day was a wonderful success! Way to go, guys! I know the restaurant will continue to be a hit!
On Friday afternoon, I got a slightly panicked call from Amy telling me she was on the way to the emergency room. Apparently Will and one of his friends got a little overzealous while playing in one of the bathrooms at school. Will took a tumble and smacked his forehead on the tile floor, resulting in a golf ball-sized knot just above his right eye. By the time I had reached the hospital, the welt had grown to about the size of a lemon. Luckily, the CAT scan was clean and the doctor advised that Will take it easy for the next four weeks or so… No contact sports… no rough-housing… basically, no fun. Can you imagine trying to keep a 4-year-old and his 6-year-old brother-who seem to think it is absolutely imperative that they lightsaber duel at least 3 or 4 times each day- from rough-housing? Yeah… so far we haven’t been too successful either.
The kids discovered the wonders of the Sears Christmas Wish Book Catalog over the weekend. The remainder of the weekend was spent compiling lists from the Wish Book that ranged from Star Wars Lego playsets(of course), to a Slurpee machine, to something called the Heroscape Master Set. Of course, Brian is most excited about the possibility of getting his hands on a GameBoy Advance SP without having to use the piggy bank money he has so meticulously and methodically garnered.

Yikes! I hope that Will will be okay. You need to get him one of those Crash Helmets. And of course, put a Steeler’s logo on it.
Ahhhh, the Sears Christmas wish book. All the toys that were NEVER in the stores and that you would never see. Those are the good ole days. Gameboy Advanced… Back in my day… we had Coleco Football with red lcd lights… AND WE LIKED IT!
Eric has “gotten” Christmas yet, but I am sure next year we’ll be looking at catalog. Ironically, his favorite book right now is a toy catalog… but he just wants to look at the pictures… go figure!

I remember having a baseball game with the LEDs… I loved that game! We went to Toys R Us on Monday and saw that they were selling the original Atari game console w/15-20 games for like $34… unbelievable! Those really were the good ol’ days.
Will reminds me alot of me, physically as a young boy. I was small and not the most coordinated. Brian reminds me alot of me, mentally. I loved books, and I loved action-adventure.
I’m sure Eric will LOVE this Christmas and I do hope Ryan starts feeling better.
