Here’s Wishing all of our Family and Friends a very Happy New Year!
Amy and I have made one really big resolution for the coming year – We have both decided to quit smoking. This one is actually a little harder for me right now as Amy hasn’t smoked since she had gotten sick earlier. I, on the other hand have been talking about quitting for at least the last month, but just didn’t have the courage to put them down. It’s an extremely humbling thing to know that something can control you so easily. I’ve always believed that you can accomplish so much with a firm mindset, so not being able to kick cigarettes completely has always been such a frustrating thing.
My secondary goal for the upcoming year is to lose at least 10 pounds and keep it off. I actually need to lose around 20-30 pounds, but I want to do this the right way, and you almost always gain weight when quitting smoking.
Aside from those two, I also want to spend more time with my family. My work has controlled me for far too long and has changed me in ways that I’m not particularly proud of. I also want to start a couple of projects around the house this year – maybe some landsacping and some painting projects. We’ll see how well that goes.
So what has everyone else resolved to do this New Year?
