I know I haven’t updated in a while and I really apologize. We’ve been having a time the past week… Victoria’s Cell got stolen at school and the thief decided use her phone list and call all of her friends and contacts. He then called us repeatedly and said some verry rude things to my daughter. Needless to say, she was very upset. News of what happened spread quickly the next day at the school and, of course, rumors of who may have stolen her cell. One person(out of many others) in particular was pointed out. Now this particular kid and Victoria never really got along in the first place, which just added more fuel to the fire. Next thing you know, a verbal flame-fest erupts with people around the school taking sides…
To make a long story short, I cut off the phone and got her a replacement. Over the next week, drama commences, with a lot of name-calling and verbal attacks. Victoria’s boyfriend and the one kid get in a scuffle on school grounds which later moves on to our church parking lot. The three families end up going to the police that evening, and after several hours, work things out. However, there is much more to it than just the original story…
Because of the late night at the police station, the boys got very little sleep, which I believe, contributed to two very cranky boys the next day. I ended up having to leave work in order to take Will out of school as he proceeded to have a temper tantrum and hit his teacher. He didn’t hit her hard, mind you, but it’s the fact that he did it. As soon as I got Will home, Amy calls me saying that Brian also was misbehaving and was in her classroom. I straightened him out on the phone with some classic daddy-intimidation techniques and he was sent back to his own classroom with his tail between his legs.
Of course, the story doesn’t end here. The atmosphere at Victoria’s school will be tough for the next few days. Teenagers are a funny lot. They thrive on drama. Gossip will grow and rumors will continue about this until the next big “Thing” to talk about comes along. Let’s hope we can all persevere.
