… all of a sudden it came to me! My original intent for the parent site was to make it a meeting place of a sort – where we, as a family could come together and share conversation, and ideas. While I was searching for plug-ins for drupal I ran into a 3rd party plugin that would import these text files that are formatted to some genealogical standard. Now you can merge and link these things together to get your family tree. With my curiosity piqued, I googled some things here and there and found some free software that will help you create your tree, and then can export the results to these same text files – which I can then upload to the website. I believe I’m going to dedicate at least some of the site towards this project.
Unfortunately, that is also the bad news… This will be a pretty sizable undertaking, and with my incredibly minute knowledge of any family outside of my own siblings, I have a lot of work ahead of me. This is where you guys(all 4 of you) come in. If any of my family members(blood-related or otherwise) would like to volunteer, I would be extremely grateful. All I need is for you to email me(or via the Contact Form in the sidebar) what you know about your immediate family(living or deceased). Please include things like:
- Date of Birth
- Place of Birth
- Current location
- Marraige Date and Location(if married)
- spouse name (again – if married) Note:If you are divorced please include all former spouses
- Date and Place of Death
That’s just a portion of the feilds available in the software, but to me, they are the most important and will help in my research when trying to track down any other long-lost relatives.
I’ve already begun work on inputting the information into the software and once I decide on a CMS for the parent site and get it up, all of you will be able to track the progress.

I think this is a great idea, especially since there is alot of your family over on the island that we only hear about it passing or a story…
You should make a frapper map or something like that to indentify people’s location… that would be neat too.
