Whew! things are moving pretty furiously – well, at least in my mind. I found a drupal plugin that would integrate gooogle maps into the new site once it’s up. The module boasts user interaction as well, so any user that logs in, can add a tag to the map. As far as the Family Tree is concerned, my mind is racing as to how much I need to accomplish, however I will need alot of help to get this thing looking halfway like a working project. I found another Drupal plugin that incorporates phpgedview into any drupal powered site. If you’re wondering what it may look like, you can click on Sites using PhpGedView and check out any of those sites. The ones I visited were pretty cool. I just hope that once the new site is up, I will be able to attract enough of our family members to help and pitch in.
I really believe that with these two plugins and incorporating a forum (and maybe a chatbox) could really help with the interest and the activity on the new site.
Oh – and BTW, I want to upgrade to the latest WordPress for the blog sometime between now and the end of the year…
