I guess I got so carried away talking about the dance aspect of the concert, that I forgot to mention the rest. There was a Christmas dinner served before the concert. I didn’t attend it as I couldn’t get there that early from work, but I heard that there was almost a food shortage. That bodes well as I am a big proponent of the arts programs in schools and it does my heart good to see(and hear) the amount of support the community provided.
The school chorus was very good. I have had the luxury of watching the chorus perform quite a bit over the past 20 years, and I must say, that this year’s group was probably one of the most talented I’ve heard in quite a while… Granted, I’m a little biased towards the chorus classes of ‘84-’87, but this year’s class came in awfully close. The quality of the voices and their ability to blend was pretty darned amazing. It is really nice to see the choral program make a comeback over the past few years.
