Wow, These guys are really on the move!! Since the Demolition Day on Saturday, I have been told that a tremendous amount of progress has been made. A few of my co-workers have been able to finagle their way in as catering volunteers. I have been told that in a span of 54 hours the crews have gone from pouring the foundation to having the house ready for drywalling. Listen, I had my house built and to get that far, that fast, is just remarkable!
Anyways, If you’re interested in all of the goings on with the project, the Sun News Online is doing a very good job of keeping track of it all. I especially like the interview with Paige Hemmis, one of the team’s designers(she wears the pink hardhat all of the time on the show).

Another very interesting interview was with Coastal Carolina’s Head football Coach, David Bennett. It gives a little insight to what kind of coach and man he really is. I’ve listened to him a lot on the local sports radio station and I really respect and admire what he has done for the team and the community. In fact, from what I have heard, there has been quite an outpour of support for this project from the surrounding area.

I was considering trying to volunteer a little myself… and then I remembered how un-handy I am… Yeah, I’m like the un-handiest of un-handymen.

Not to mention, things have gotten quite a bit busier at the Palomares household lately…. But that is a story that deserves a dedicated post – Maybe little later when things start to calm down around here.
