Right around the time both Brian and Will develop some fairly high grade fevers:
- There is a norovirus outbreak that strikes so bad, DHEC shuts down a nearby school.
- There is a recall on certain lot numbers of Peter Pan and Great Value Peanut Butter due to the presence of salmonella in certain samples.
Upon hearing this news, we raided our pantry and found that all 3 (2 half eaten and one brand new) of our jars of peanut butter were from the specified lot number. The boys were out of school for a week. Amy had a severe ear infection which also kept her out. To try to stem the flow of infectious bad things passing throughout the household, we shipped Keri and Zack off to their Nanny and Papa’s for a few days.
To make things worse… just when we thought things were ok again, Brian now has strep throat! He has been quarantined off to one section of the house, but I don’t know how long it will be before one of the others decides to sneak in there to play with him.
I came home Friday feeling tired and achy. Amy said I had a low-grade fever, so I popped a couple Tylenol and went straight to bed.
Oh, Brian also celebrated his Birthday on Saturday the 17th. It wasn’t much of a party as he was still feeling a little icky from the first sickness.
My birthday was on the 22nd, but I think all of us were too pooped to really celebrate. I did get a birthday message from Jen and her family, but I was already asleep. I appreciated it very much though.
To be honest, I’ve pretty much had my fill of sickness and fevers and yuckiness.

Are you trying to get your quota of sickness for the year? or are you going for a record there?
Our household hasn’t been free and clear either. Luckily (and somewhat oddly) I have not been touched by anything. Mostly the kidlets have has sinus stuff and Jen’s been a little more substantial.
Hope you all are feeling better!
Sorry you guys are so sick. My family passed around some virus that’s going around in Kansas, and my two-year-old has a brand new cough and fever.
I hope you guys come out on the other side of this soon.
