A Happy Holidays Wish from all of us to all of you out there. Hope that you all have an excellent 2009!
Another Coats Christmas Celebration has come and gone…. This one seemed much quicker than the ones previous. It was really great being able to see everyone together like that. I didn’t do an actual head count – I’m sure somebody there did, but I am estimating 26-27 people attended this year’s festivities… give or take a couple. That’s an awful lot of bodies in one place!
Anyhoo… I rushed to get the pix imported into picasa and up on the web. I excluded the awful blurry pix and I tried to go thru each of the ones and correct the red-eye stuff, but some of the pix still could be cropped better, and touched up a bit. But to appease the largest amount of people, I decided to just upload the rest of them, and let you guys grab whichever ones you want, and edit to your hearts’ content!

I couldn’t believe it when I passed by the corner convenience store earlier today…. gas was $1.49 per gallon! Didn’t think I’d ever see gas go back under a buck-fifty…
Tomorrow is my final Christmas Cantata practice before Sunday’s performance at Buck Creek Baptist… No – that isn’t my church. This year we had a joint venture between the Loris UMC and Buck Creek Baptist. The UMC performance was last weekend – yup… while I was cruising in the Bahamas. Soooo… if anyone is in the Buck Creek vicinity on Sunday around 11AM… stop by. This year’s music is very nice!
Tomorrow is also The Coats Christmas Celebration(or C3, as I like to call it). I look forward to this get-together every year… and no – I’m not saying that just because some of them happen by this blog every once in a while. Good times… good people… Hopefully, I’ll be able to snap some decent photos.

While sifting through all of my rss feeds, I happened to catch this little tidbit about a plugin called WordPress Automatic Upgrade (or WPAU for short). I figured that since I was a rev or 2 behind… why not?
I downloaded and installed the plugin and very quickly, I was on my way to upgrading (fairly) painlessly to WP-2.7.
The only issue that I had was the plugin dying during the DB backup part. I ended up just manually backing up the DB and skipping that step in the plugin. Everything else was smooth as silk!
The look of the control panel for 2.7 is VERY different to prior versions. I haven’t decided whether or not I like it, but I have been using scribefire to write my posts for so long, that, aside from the occasional comment spam moderation, it has been a while since I’ve had to login to my wp-dashboard. Anyways, I’ll explore around and let you know what I think…

More details later, but we’ve been getting lots of requests from some of Amy’s students to get these pix up. Needless to say, with the exception of the rough waters on the last day, we had an absolute blast! Just click on the link below to be taken to our Picasa Album.

Our best Thanksgiving Holidays Wishes to everyone! We all hope you have a great Holiday Season!
And for those of you that will be partaking in the craziness that is Black Friday, good luck to you – and try to stay warm in those early morning lines.
OK… better late than never I guess. The kids’ Christmas Wish List has been updated for 2008. I’ll keep a link on the Pages section of the sidebar until after the end of the holiday season. I’d like to point out that this list is merely a guide for those needing a little nudge in the right direction. Other notables right now that didn’t make the list but should have:
Indiana Jones stuff
Batman, X-men, Fantastic Four, etc… If it is a Superhero or a transforming robot… It’s a winner!
Gift cards for Wal-mart, Target, or Best Buy always are appreciated.
Sorry I’m so late this year on getting this out. If you have any questions, just leave me a note in the Comment section and I’ll be happy to help.
